  • The Spark: My journey began in 2012 making tutus and bows as a hobby. Crafting started as therapy for my soul and a gift from the Lord—and over time, that passion turned into a full-time business!

  • The Passion & Process: From crafting small signs and custom creations with my Cricut to arranging floral memorials, I love the hands-on process of bringing ideas to life. You can find my creations online as well as at local spots like our town’s Antique Store and Peddler Market. I put heart into every piece to bring a genuine smile to people's faces.

  • The Heart Behind the Craft: Creating items that bring joy and comfort to others is deeply rewarding. I always encourage others to try crafting or starting their own small business because not only is it fun, it's so rewarding.

  • Advice & Inspiration: Believe in yourself, never give up, and trust that God will see you through even when times get tough. When you cross those hurdles, take it as a blessing and give Him all the glory.

My foundational Bible verse is Matthew 19:26: 'With God all things are possible.' I keep this at the core of my platform because it's only through Him that we are where we are today.

Business: Painted Rocks of Truth

Location: Pennsylvania

Craft Specialty: Unique, hand-painted rocks with verses of encouragement.

  • The Spark: In May 2022, I discovered rock painting. To be honest, I can’t really remember how, but I must have seen something while scrolling on Facebook that piqued my interest. So, off to Amazon I went in search of rocks and acrylic paint pens.

  • The Passion & Process: I began by using a TV tray, sitting in our living room watching TV with my husband. I would look up ideas of what to paint and do my best to copy an image. Today, my dining room table is my “studio.” It always has lots of rocks in various stages of the painting process. I can sit there facing our living room and paint while watching TV with my husband. It’s just the two of us, so the only time I clean the table off is when we are having company. I like things orderly in our home, but I have come to accept that this is now my “studio.” Before I begin painting, I pray and ask God to guide my hands and to show me which verse(s) to write on the back for the person who will receive the rock. Once several rocks are painted, I take them to our garage and spray them with sealer. Once they are dry, I bring them back inside, add a coat of shiny varnish, and they are ready to go.

  • The Heart Behind the Craft: I enjoy creating each rock I paint. In the beginning, I would leave them in different places—outside restaurants, while out walking, or in a safe place on steps leading to an office—just a lot of different places. Tutorials became my friend, and as with anything, the more I practiced, the better I became. I also began using brushes and liquid paints to create a different look. Placing rocks around was fun, and I found it to be a way to hopefully encourage others. But as time went on, I began to wonder if I could somehow use this simple hobby to glorify God. He gave me the idea of writing a Scripture reference on the back, so I began doing that. Then, one night as I was lying in bed, I sensed I was supposed to start a Facebook page of my own. Hmmm…that was a stretch for me. What would that entail? Could I do that? What would I call it? And then God said…Painted Rocks of Truth. So that’s how my ministry of sharing about Jesus, using my surprise, God-given talent for painting rocks, began. Soon, friends were telling me I should sell them. Really? I wondered who would purchase a painted rock, but I soon discovered there were many people who would. Each rock I paint, I ask God to show me which verse(s) to add. When I hide a rock or someone purchases one, I pray that the person who receives it will be blessed and encouraged. Currently, I have a Facebook page, do vendor shows, have taught a few classes (which is a stretch for me too, since I don’t like to be in front of people!), have my rocks in two local shops, and have an Etsy store. God is certainly teaching me a lot, and He receives all the glory! Recently, a lady who purchased a rock told me she doesn’t know much about the Bible, but she looked up the verse on the back—John 14:27—and it really spoke to her heart. We had a nice conversation, and I encouraged her to find out more about Jesus and read about Him in the book of John. She said she would. This made my heart so happy and encouraged me to keep painting and sharing for Him. He is the Creator. He has given me this talent and a small source of income in my “older” years. He has given me this passion and joy, and HE IS MY ROCK.

  • Advice & Inspiration: My journey started as something simple to try, and soon it became an my passion, just ask my husband. I didn’t even know I could paint! Try something new and discover if it’s something you become passionate about. Most importantly, ask God, seek His direction, and He will lead you. Enjoy what you do!

Matthew 6:33 Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added unto you.

  • The Spark: My journey officially began earlier this year, around springtime, when I realized retirement was right around the corner—official as of November 6, 2026! I knew I’d appreciate having some extra income, so when a friend from church offered to sell her entire laser engraving business, I was thrilled. I was ready to jump in, but it turned out not to be in God's timing. Feeling a bit defeated and bummed out, I cried out to God in prayer, asking Him to open another door and show me what I could do. God answered that same week! First, I came across a Facebook ad for metal stamping—making cuff bracelets and dog tags—and immediately felt led to order a startup kit. Later that exact same day, I discovered The Customizer Engraving Pen by Resparked. That was the answer to my prayers!

  • The Passion & Process: Since I’m still working full-time from home, I haven't been able to spend quite as much time crafting as I’d like. I initially converted my small garage into my "craft cave," but the South Carolina summer heat made it far too hot to work in! To keep creating, I moved part of my studio right into my office. Now, my full-time work desk and computer are on one side, and when I spin my chair around, I have two snack trays set up with my customizers, engraving bits, and pattern designs, along with glasses, vases, mirrors, and inventory surrounding me on the floor. My favorite surfaces to transform are mirrors and glass, though I also love working with acrylic, slate, and metal, and I'm steadily honing my craft on wood. Hand-engraving allowed me to blend stamping and engraving together into unique pieces. While laser engraving is beautiful, hand-engraving adds a truly personal, heartfelt touch.

  • The Heart Behind the Craft: At the heart of my work, my number one priority is ensuring every piece inspires. In each creation, I try to include a scripture reference or a simple, encouraging word. It’s my niche—and every single piece is completely God-inspired. If anyone asks why all of this is so meaningful to me, it comes down to one word: JESUS! It gives me a wonderful opportunity to share my faith and His love in every single creation I make.

  • Advice & Inspiration: Don't every give up! If you do not know what your creative gift is as of yet, keep praying!  God will answer and He will provide - just when you least expect it!  His timing is perfect!

Romans 8:28 And we know that all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.

  • The Spark: In 2020, after teaching for nearly 20 years, I was injured on the job and could no longer teach. In trying to decide what I wanted to do I had been dealing with the grief of losing many of my family members to cancer. Wondering why we had been hit so hard by this awful disease I started researching how to make products that contained no cancer causing ingredients. I never planned to make a career out of this, but fell in love with making quality soaps and skin care products that were safe for the entire family to use and so I decided to give it a shot as a small business and have been working to grow it ever since.

  • The Heart Behind the Craft: I love making things from scratch and being able to control what goes into each product. Soap is my favorite product to make because it's very soothing and it's so fulfilling to see what goes into the mold as a liquid transform into a safe and beautiful bar of soap.

  • The Spark: I started beading about 6 months after my husband of 41 years, Billy, passed away from cancer. I was completely devoid of joy and begged the Lord to give me something or help me get some joy back—enter my business. It was truly a gift from God, and I ask Him to help me design.

  • The Passion & Process: I make the design, pick the beads, choose the type of bracelet or keychain I want, and start my projects. I love sending out a nicely done package, offering a few cute extra items, and I always write a handwritten note. From my thermal printer to USPS pickup, everything is done with care!

  • The Heart Behind the Craft: My favorite things to make are Christian Faith Jewelry with Full Armor of God Charms. Spreading the word of God makes handmade goods so deeply meaningful to me.

  • Advice & Inspiration: If you believe it is your calling, God will help you. Network, take advice from other small business owners, make a product you would actually buy yourself, and love what you are doing!
